It's really not about the rating--its about the content. As Christians we should want nothing to do with evil, and by buying tickets we are supporting the content and actors/actresses in the movie. and allowing more filth to be made. Romans 1:28-32 says:
"Furthermore, since they did not think it worth-while to retain the knowledge of God, he handed them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; the invent ways of doing evil; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless; although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them"
I am completely offended when in movies they use our sweet Lords name in vain; it should be offensive to every Christian to hear our Lord and saviors name use w/ a swear word or just plainly in vain. Also, as Christians we should not be "used" to hearing cursing and think its ok to watch people commit violent acts, and fornication right before our very eyes.
1st Timothy 4:1-2 says: "The spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith ad follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron" We should not choose to hear cursing, and see sexual situations and violence. I try to always ask myself before going to a movie "If possible, would I ask Jesus to accompany me to this movie?" Would he approve? What Jesus thinks should be more important than what I want to do. "deny thy self" Set a good example for others.
